William F. Malloy, Jr., President

Education: U.S Naval Academy, Harvard University Masters Degree in Public Administration. Retired Navy Captain.

  

Graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and The U.S Naval Academy, William F. Malloy, Jr. (Bill) brings extensive experience in government affairs to The Malloy Group, with more than 30 years in the government and private sectors. Bill has served a wide range of clients specializing in diverse and regulated industries ranging from health care and insurance to banking, among others.

  

Over the years, he has expanded the firm into a full-service government affairs and business development firm; providing consulting and strategic planning, in addition to developing an extensive network in both the legislative and executive branches of government.

Prior to joining the firm, Bill graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and spent eight years on active duty, and retired at the rank of Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2010.

Selected by Congressman Gerry Studds in 1993, he served for three years on his Academy Selection Committee, interviewing and recommending potential candidates to the Congressman and the military academies for admission. Bill is the past President and one of the Trustees of the U. S. Naval Academy Alumni Association of Boston. Bill served on the Board of Advisors to Shackleton Schools for 10 years and the Board of Directors for the New England-Canada Business Council for 7 years. In addition, Bill served on the board of Seafarers Friend, a small non-profit dedicated to helping merchant mariners who are far away from home while visiting the Port of Boston.

From 2001 to 2008 Bill served as an Adjunct Professor at the US Merchant Marine Academy teaching Leadership and Ethics to Navy Reserve Officers and Commissioned Officers of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. In addition, he has taught courses in Mine Warfare and Anti-Terrorism Force Protection and “wrote the book” on Leadership and Ethics for Reserve Officers.

 

Bill continues to serve as a Field Admissions Representative (Blue and Gold Officer) for the U.S Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland, recruiting and interviewing potential candidates. Bill continues to provide a legislative voice for numerous veterans organizations.
